Helderberg College, a private higher education institution situated at the foot of the Helderberg Mountain in Somerset West, South Africa, offers a memorable, life-altering experience that lasts a lifetime.

A fully accredited higher education institution, Helderberg College is proud to be the first Seventh-Day Adventist higher education institution on the African continent. Helderberg College is one of the more than 100 institutions of higher education throughout the world founded and supported by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Over the years since its establishment in 1893, the College has thousands of global graduates from its prestigious institution, and still hosts many students from around the world.

The campus hosts not only the College, but also a Pre-School, Primary School and High School. Accommodation is provided in both men’s and ladies’ residences, along with married student housing. The property supports an olive industry, producing both table olives and high-quality olive oil. As rural as it appears, the College is a mere few minute’s drive from the town centre, large Shopping Mall and local beaches. It is 20 minutes drive from Cape Town International Airport.

Across the bay is Cape Point, a reserve within the Table Mountain National Park, as well as a National World Heritage Site. A must-see for all Cape Town visitors.

Near the College the Helderberg Nature Reserve can be found. Hiking trails lead up the mountain slopes and green lawns provide the perfect place for a picnic.

Within easy driving distance are the towns of Stellenbosch, Grabouw and Paarl, each with their own unique atmosphere, activities and weekly events.

Shark diving, mountain biking, hiking, surfing, you can find it all right here. Music, culture, theatre, quaint little coffee shops and street markets, they’re here too.  All it takes is a little time and a wander off the beaten track to discover the many jewels this area has to offer.
