HCHE Graduation Weekend
As a College family, we are always proud to celebrate our student’s achievements during the annual graduation weekend. The annual graduation weekend commenced on 30 November 2017 with the Annual Alumni AGM and Dinner, followed by the Consecration Service on Friday evening, the Baccalaureate Service on Sabbath, and the Graduation Commencement Service on Sunday morning, was the culmination of the weekend of graduation activities.
The guest speaker during the Commencement Service on Sunday, 3 December, Dr Molapo Qhobela, CEO of the National Research Foundation, addressed the current landscape of higher education and the emphasis placed on post graduate studies. “Post-graduate students are deliberate in their desire to improve the society in which we live.”
Consecration Service speaker and President of the Northern Conference (NC), Pastor Mornay du Plessis ,delivered an exceptional message encouraging the graduate to be anchored in Christ.
The guest speaker for the Baccalaureate Service and President of the Trans-Orange Conference (TOC), Dr Dingindawo Paulus Shongwe, delivered a message emphasizing the importance of allowing God to lead and become the shepherd in the life that graduates embark on.
Helderberg College of Higher Education is proud of the 50 degree and diploma graduates who walked across the stage on Sunday morning, 3 December. Of the graduates, two graduated Magna Cum Laude, 10 graduated Cum Laude and three graduated Cum Laude and completed the requirements for the Cum Laude Society, which includes a Research Project.The graduation weekend, which marks the end of the academic calendar, was a weekend of celebration and as we look ahead into 2018 we have the confidence that the Lord will continue to lead us into greater heights.
